Life is a journey that one takes for him/herself. Or so he/she thought. However, as most of us move along in life, we realise that we might have been living life pleasing others. Do not misunderstand, it is not wrong to please them, but when you make your life out to please others, that is another thing.
Most might not even realise that they have subconsciously live their lives pleasing other people – parents, teachers, loved ones, etc. In their minds, if they were to not please those mentioned, they would lose them. And so they do everything in their power to ensure that does not happen.
So how do we get out of that brutal cycle?
We need to realise that our lives are ours to live. We choose how it should be. And we also decide what it should mean. To live a successful life we would need sacrifices and that must include not willingly pleasing other people all the time. When we are centred in our core. We know our purpose. We know what we are suppose to do, then we will be able to muster the courage to not please other people all the time.
