Each day we are faced with different things competing for our attention. Be it the marketing campaigns of new products, news from around the world, not forgetting our personal relationships and of course the work that we do.
If we allow them to take control of our lives, it is hard then to get things that matter done. Perhaps we might know this but with all the things that have been invented in this recent time, it gets more challenging to channel our focus.
You might have experienced the sudden tweet received or your email notification blinking for your attention or even a sudden urge to youtube a video. What did you do? If you are those who can firmly fend them off, kudos to you. But to the many who can’t yet, perhaps the following might be of help.
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Do work that matters to you in the early morning.
3. Get one of those apps that blocks your internet access or specific sites for your preferred set of time.
