Ever since we can remember, we have been told that we should not lie and always tell the truth. This post is not meant to question that moral principle but rather, to perhaps view things in a different perspective. Some truths, as you might know, are perhaps best left unsaid, if not for the very simple fact that it can hurt a lot of people as the result of it. Do not for the sake of your guilt, reveal the truth if the benefactor of it being out will just be yourself. Whatever you have done, that is on you. And you alone should bear the guilt, shame and everything that comes with it. So perhaps the next time you want to confess your wrongdoings, think real hard, by doing so, who really benefits?
