Don’t Tell People What They Can or Can’t Do

Each of us is our own person. At least that’s what I’d like to think. We have our own minds and we can think for ourselves. But sometimes people, usually adults or someone more senior, would do the all time mistake in telling others who are usually more junior than them what they can or can’t do. I get it. They probably have went through quite a bit in their lifetime and they are only looking out for them based on their experiences. But in hindsight, would they themselves listen to those things when they were much younger? Perhaps, or perhaps not. Thing is, we need to respect the human mind. If it is healthy and well, it should be able to make sound decisions. So invite people to good, share about them, do your best to promote it. But do not make the mistake of telling people what they can or can’t do. Because that is an insult to the human mind and can very well back fire on your intention. You can’t truly make the decisions for other people but yourself. Even if you are a parent or an authority figure. Unless you want to cause a rebellion.
