We sometimes make too many excuses that we do not even recognise when we are doing them. What we think is just simple logic could possibly be a strategy to get ourselves off the hook. I did not realise it until I heard it during an interview that Tom Bilyeu was having with Lisa Nichols where she mentioned that powerful reflection. By calling someone extraordinary or special, we are essentially using the fact that we are not that, to get us off the hook doing or pursuing our dreams. However if we look at someone as an average person who is doing something extraordinary with his or her life, then that is inspiring and even encouraging. So next time, call yourself out whenever you have those self-limiting thoughts. Do not think that you are complimenting someone by doing so. Face the truth – you are just trying to get yourself off the hook from whatever the path is that you know you have to go through in order to get to where you want to be.
