When we already know what needs to get done, we need to just do it. Don’t think. Don’t feel. Just do. Most people stop themselves from doing the actual work because they were busy dwelling in their own thoughts and emotions. They thought they were being smart. Trying to be cautious and all. But they were only fooling themselves. Most likely because they could not conquer their fears of what might happen if they take the next step. All of that should have already been addressed in the research stage. The only thing left to do now is execution. Of course, no one can guarantee if it will be a success. But you will not know it until you give it your best shot. So now that you already know what needs to be done, stop thinking about it. The thinking part is already done. Whatever emotions that you might be feeling, good or bad, put it aside. Don’t feel anything. Numb yourself. And just do.
Promoting good need not be a boring affair. If only one were to explore the different kind of mediums available, be it either through the arts or sports, each of which has an array of platforms in its own. Truly, if you think that there is a better way to send out a message, just try it out. If you are stuck, think how would you like to receive it. That is always a good place to start.
Do something different and you will be different. Do something the same, and you will be the same.
You want to be special. You do not want to be like everyone else. But the more you go through life, the more you find yourselves becoming like them. That’s not really a bad thing. Just that, you wanted more. And that is perfectly alright. It is not that you want to be different for the sake of being different but its more likely that you aspire to do the things that makes you come alive, and that happens to be different than most people’s idea of it, or at least amongst the people around you.
If you are serious about it, you need to take ownership of your destiny. You need to stop following what everyone else around you are doing. Do different. If you need a guide, look at those who are doing the things that you want to be doing, or living the life that you want to be living. Most importantly, do not apologise for being different. They will understand someday. You on the other hand, you need to be steadfast in your lane. Embrace being different. Wear it like a badge of honour. It is usually those who dare to be different who succeeds in the end.
We know that whether it be in business or personal life, positive relationships are the result of a solid connection. And nothing creates a better connection like generosity. Even though we live in a time where cynicism is a dominant culture, it still feels good when people are generous towards us. Obviously, we know better than to equate generosity with trustworthiness. That said, it rarely does hurt to receive some care. In order for this act to truly work, the mind of the giver has to be clear – genuinely show concern to the receiver without expecting anything in return. Or perhaps when doing business, going the extra mile (adding value) certainly goes a long way. There are a lot of ways to be generous, simply pick one, do it and expect nothing in return. Let it be a habit, an unconscious positive act that will reward you when you least expect it.
Life will throw a whole lot of curve balls at you. The quicker you realise that the faster your life can take a turn for the better. Else you will likely be spending your days being miserable and eventually a plague to the people around you. Once that is clearly internalised, decide to win no matter the weather of the day. Be it on a warm sunny day or a cold chilling winter, choose to win. This attitude will allow you to not be a victim but rather a player in this game called life. A player that has a fighting chance to decide how his or her future will turn out to be no matter the conditions that have been laid down. When you make the switch in your mind to not be the victim, your mind will be search high and low to make that a reality. What follows suit is your next line of action. Call it survival or winning. Regardless, it is way better than losing.
Right now, you might have a ton of things that you want to do. Or perhaps, you are just out of the formal education system and you do not want to go the traditional route. After a bit of thinking, you find that there could actually be a number of things that you can pursue. The lesson here is to not do all of those things at once. Yes, you may think that you very well can manage to them all. However, further along you will eventually realise that while you can do a few things, there is not really anything that you are particularly great at. And that will make you no different than anyone else. It is fairly easy to achieve being good at something. However, successful people know that just good is not good enough. You need to be great. And to do that, you need to focus your limited time and energy to be great at one thing first, before conquering other skills/endeavours.
In light of situations where emotions are high and personal beliefs have been mocked at, it is quite a challenge to maintain a calm and collected composure. However, that said, it should not be an excuse to justify retaliations filled with much hatred. What many successful people or rather groups of them have understood, is that in order to be heard, when the entire situation around it is in chaos, all the more reason there is to come in peace. Do not allow the negative actions to effectively paint the entire town red thereby making it more difficult for others to comprehend and empathise with the situation. Yes, by all means be angry. But do not respond negativity with the same equivalent or worst. Nothing good will come out of it. And the ones at the losing end, are usually those who thought their responses came from a good place.
